Meet Jessica!  Jessica is a petite 5 year old, 5 lb chocolate brown Chihuahua mix.  Jessica is complete sweetheart! She LOVES kids, since she is so small though she would do best with older calm kids.  She likes people much more than dogs and is happy with both men and women.  Her favorite spot in the house in your lap or perched up on the couch behind you.  She does not like the dogs in her foster home, but they tolerate her.  We recommend she go to home with no other dogs.  Jessica enjoys her play time out in the yard, but does not really understand what a leash is or what to do with it.  She would make the perfect little purse dog and would love to be carried around and is compact enough to be toted around town.  Jessica is potty trained, but cannot hold for very long if not taken out frequently.  She is a very picky eater and sensitive about having her feet touched and on Cosequin supplements for her hips and joints.  Jessica is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines.  Her adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.



We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.



All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.  



Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
